Prescription Plan Comparison

Finding the best cost for your prescription drug needs can be overwhelming. To help you be an educated consumer and find the lowest cost options, we have created a comparison chart. You can see information about your prescription drug benefit plan through Texas State, several national discount programs, and local pharmacies.

You can save money by:

  • Requesting generic drugs when available,
  • Filling maintenance medications in a 3-month supply, and
  • Comparing prices between your medical plan prescription drug coverage and the various discount programs.

This chart is a tool intended for employees to find the best price for prescription drug purchases. Texas State University does not have any connection to or endorsement of the companies listed on this page. This information was last updated in July 2019.
