HOW TO COMMUNICATE WITH APPLICANTS YOU DO NOT HIRE
(Please note: Neither Human Resources or Equity and Inclusion contacts those applicants who are not selected by the hiring manager. It is the responsibility of the hiring department to contact those applicants).
Communicating to an applicant (especially those who were interviewed) that he or she did not get the job is a courtesy that should be extended to each candidate through an email, phone call, or formal letter. It is a recommended but not required step that employers should take. This will help reduce their uncertainty about their status in the hiring process. As an organization we want to provide all potential candidates with a positive application experience and communicate with them where they stand in the hiring process.
