First-generation college students are an increased population attending college today. This presentation will include information on who are first-generation college students, discuss barriers and challenges with the invisible population and how to create a culturally relevant supportive and inclusive learning environment. This session will discuss best practices to assist in enabling first-generation students to academically and socially transition and succeed in and out of the classroom.
