TIME: 2 - 4:30 p.m.

LOCATION: JCK 460/Avery 355 (streaming to Round Rock)

Overview:

Presenter(s): Jonathan Tyner, and Victoria Gonzales

This workshop teaches faculty and staff about immigration regulations, credential evaluation, and suggests best practices for advising international students on F-1 visas. Eighty-nine percent of international students at Texas State University are here studying on an F-1 visa.

With immigration constantly changing, and too many acronyms to remember, this workshop breaks down what you need to know to help our international students at Texas State. We will review evaluating international transcripts, immigration forms and documentation necessary to ensure compliance with federal regulations.

Finally, attendees will have an opportunity to engage with international students through a student panel. Students will share and answer questions about their experiences, needs, and challenges as international students at Texas State.
